Meriden CT – January 11, 2007 | The Response Insurance Group and its Teachers’ Insurance Plan™ once again beat all of the ten largest auto insurers in New York state according to just released ratings by the NYS Department of Insurance. The Company, which had an almost perfect record, moved up to number 5 on the annual list, and was also highlighted by the Department as a “Best Performer” for making their “Top 25” List for four consecutive years.

With just one upheld complaint, Response beat out GEICO, Allstate, State Farm, Progressive, St. Paul Travelers, Liberty Mutual, White Mountains, Central Services, Metropolitan, and Nationwide in both the number of complaints and the ratio of complaints to company size, based on premium in the state. Among companies with more than $25 million of premium, Response ranked number 2.
Response, a national direct to the consumer auto insurer, had a complaint ratio that was 7-times better than the industry-average in the state.
The New York State Insurance Department Annual Ranking of Automobile Insurance Complaints was based on recently compiled 2005 data.
